This patient wants to have a better smile for her wedding! She shows a lot of gum above her teeth when she smiles, and she is also missing 2 teeth on the upper right which made her smile and teeth uneven. One of the teeth missing is a front tooth (the upper right lateral incisor). The patient had orthodontics when she was younger to move the canine into the space of the incisor so that she will not have a missing front tooth. But because of this, the sizes of her teeth appeared unbalanced. The patient also had decay and mutiple discolored fillings on her front teeth.
First, the patient whitened her teeth so that we could match the new restorations to her whiter natural teeth. The missing tooth was replaced with an implant with an all-porcelain crown. The "gummy" smile was resolved by recontouring the gum and placing veneers and all-porcelain crowns, resulting in a beautiful smile just in time for her wedding! Dentistry by Michelle S.
